note by Todd Minor

Jim Minor produced the records for Les Emery's Western CHuck Wagon label. Im Minor's son and he told me that les had the money and he let Minor produce the records. Minors initials are the record number and the initials are in the deadwax. On Lonnie Barrons record it was recorded at his radio station. Darold Hyde played guitar on the record and Minor produced it. He told me the whole story of going over to the station with Minor in the middle of the winter and they made the recording and then got the vehicle stuck in the snow in front of the station. Les Emery also owned another label in the mid 1950s called Modern Pop-Hit Recordings. The record number on this is the missing number on the chuck wagon label, JM-1005 and 1006. The only artist on this label Sue CHilders. Songs are Kiss-Mus-Tree and Ooh! Ooh! Golly Gee!. This was a Christmas record and Minor produced it as well. This was the first major recording to come out of Flint. Darold Hyde played guitar on this one and it was recorded at the Flint armory. Sue Childers changed her name to Sue CHilds and recorded a jazz lp in 1964 and went on to be the female vocalist for the Frank Sinatra Jr. band in the 1960s. On Minor's discog, Vada Belle and alice berry are not backing minor and the Jordanaires as i first reported to you years ago. Minor took Belle and Berry into the rca studio b and did a&r for them and they each recorded a record for United artists records in 1960. Belle's record number is UA 266 AND Berrys is UA 265.
