Carter Stanley is a guest, featured on guitar and lead vocal, on “Sugar Coated Love” on a live performance by Bill Monroe and his Blue Grass Boys recorded in Luray, VA. Reissued as by Bill Monroe on 2017 album “Bill Clifton’s Bluegrass Day: July 4, 1961 - Early Set: Oak Leaf Park, Luray, VA.”
March 19, 1962: Rose Maddox, “Sings Bluegrass.” Album issued in 1962. Bill Monroe featured on mandolin on 5 tracks, 3 of which he composed (“Uncle Pen,” “Blue Moon Of Kentucky” and “My Rose Of Old Kentucky”). The other 2 tracks are “Footprints In The Snow” and “Molly And Tenbrooks.” Donna Stoneman featured on mandolin on the other 7 album tracks.
September 6, 1970: Curly Seckler, “Down In Caroline.” Album issued in 2005. Bill Monroe featured on mandolin and lead vocal on a live performance of “Sitting On Top Of The World” recorded in Fincastle, VA. Seckler featured on tenor vocal. Backed by Joe Greene and the Greene Men with Kenny Baker on second fiddle. This is a hidden track at the end of the album.
May 25, 1975: Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys, “Live! At McClure, Virginia.” Album issued in 1976. Bill Monroe is a guest on 2 live performances by Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys recorded in McClure, VA. Monroe is featured on mandolin and tenor vocal on his compositions “I’m On My Way To The Old Home” and “Can’t You Hear Me Callin’.”
Ca. May 1975: Brother Birch Monroe, “Plays Old Time Fiddle Favorites.” Album issued in 1975. Bill Monroe featured on mandolin throughout entire album.
February 9, 10 and 11, 1976: James Monroe, “Sings Songs Of “Memory Lane” Of His Uncle Charlie Monroe;” James Monroe and Bill Monroe, “Blue Grass Special Memories.” Albums issued in 1976 and 1999. Bill Monroe featured on mandolin and tenor vocal throughout entire 1976 album. 4 of these tracks reissued on 1999 album (“Bringin’ In The Georgia Mail,” “Down Memory Lane,” “I’m Comin’ Back But I Don’t Know When” and “Roll In My Sweet Baby’s Arms”). Another track on the 1999 album, “When The Angels Carry Me Home,” features Bill Monroe on mandolin and tenor vocal. It is likely an alternate take from these sessions (a different version appears on the 1976 album).
March 29 or 30, 1976: Kenny Baker, “Plays Bill Monroe.” Album issued in 1976. Monroe featured on mandolin throughout entire album. All 12 tracks composed by Monroe. 3 tracks had not been previously issued (“Road To Columbus,” “Fiddler’s Pastime” and “Mississippi Waltz”). Bill Monroe featured on mandolin and tenor vocal on 5 tracks on 1984 album (“Nine Pound Hammer,” “Live And Let Live,” “I Haven’t Seen Mary In Years,” “Bonny” and “When The Bees Are In The Hive”). These 5 tracks reissued on 1999 album.

July 27, 1994/ca. October 21, 1994: Kathy Chiavola, “The Harvest.” Album issued in 1995. Bill Monroe featured on mandolin and lead vocal on his composition “Stay Away From Me.”
October 28, 1994/October 30, 1994: Butch Robins, “Grounded, Centered, Focused.” Album issued in 1995. Bill Monroe featured on mandolin on 5 of his compositions. 2 of these 5 tracks had not been previously issued (“Old Lonesome Waltz” and “My Father’s Footsteps”). The 3 tracks featuring Monroe which had been previously issued are “The Golden West,” “I’d Love To Be Over Yonder” and “Tanyards” (“Tanyards” was first issued by Jim Moss in 1983). Mike Compton also featured on mandolin on these 5 tracks. CD liner notes state that Monroe is also featured on his composition “Kentucky Waltz” but this is an error; only Compton is featured on mandolin on “Kentucky Waltz.”
November 8, 1994: Byron Berline, “Fiddle and A Song.” Album issued in 1995. Bill Monroe featured on mandolin and lead vocal on “Sally Goodin.” Earl Scruggs featured on banjo on this track.
November 30, 1994/December 8, 1994: Gary Brewer, “Guitar.” Album issued in 1995. Bill Monroe featured on mandolin on 2 of his compositions, the second of which had not been previously issued. The first is “Ozark Rag” and the second is “The Old Kentucky Blues.” Brewer also featured on mandolin on “Ozark Rag” (Brewer featured on both guitar and mandolin on this track).
March 20, 1995: Jimmy Campbell, “Pieces Of Time.” Album issued in 1996. Bill Monroe featured on mandolin on all 12 tracks, 6 of which credit Monroe as sole composer (“Watson Blues,” “Lonesome Old Farmer,” “Woodstock Hornpipe,” “Fiddlers Blues,” “Chilly Winds Of Shannon” and “Old Ebenezer Scrooge”). Monroe listed as partial composer on 2 other tracks, the latter of which he composed by himself (“Old Tennessee River” and “Blues For Casey”). 6 of these tracks had not been previously issued (“Lonesome Old Farmer,” “Woodstock Hornpipe,” “Fiddlers Blues,” “Chilly Winds Of Shannon,” “Old Tennessee River” and “Blues For Casey”). The other 4 album tracks are “Down Yonder,” “Texas Quickstep,” “Jenny Lynn,” and “Solder’s Joy.” Mike Compton also featured on mandolin on “Woodstock Hornpipe” and “Old Ebenezer Scrooge.”
September 9, 1995: Larry Sparks, “Lonesome And Then Some… A Classic 50th Celebration.” Album issued in 2014. Sparks is a guest, featured on guitar and lead vocal, on “In The Pines” on a live performance by Bill Monroe and his Blue Grass Boys recorded in Bean Blossom, IN.
December 1, 1995: Steve Earle, “Live In Nashville 1995.” Album issued in 2014. Bill Monroe is a guest, featured on tenor vocal, on his composition “Walls Of Time” on a live performance by Earle recorded in Nashville, TN. Peter Rowan featured on mandolin and lead vocal (as member of the Train Band backing Earle; the other members are Norman Blake and Roy Huskey, Jr.).
February 21, 1996: Billy and Terry Smith, “Bill Monroe Tribute.” Album issued in 1996. Monroe featured on mandolin on “Mule Skinner Blues,” on mandolin and tenor vocal on “Walk Softly On My Heart” and on mandolin and lead vocal on “Blue Moon Of Kentucky.” Terry Smith also featured on tenor vocal on “Walk Softly On My Heart,” which was composed by Jake Landers and Monroe.
